Enrichment classes are learning experiences that go above and beyond what is possible in the traditional school classroom. Here at WVCS, we offer several Enrichment Courses for all classes TK-8th Grade. While studying Math, Literature, Science and History is important, we also recognize that Enrichment Courses can help children find and channel their gifts. Through these Enrichment Courses, our goal is to help students find their niches and to be able to learn and express themselves in different ways. Below are the Enrichment Courses that are offered to our students:

Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Conversational Spanish sets the foundation for learning Spanish. The students will become familiar with basic vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciations and will understand the advantages of knowing and speaking another language. The students should be prepared and willing to hear and speak Spanish in class. At the end of the class, the goal is for students to speak with confidence and wit proper pronunciations. 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Welcome to P.E. We plan on having a number of team games and activities for the year along with growing each child's athletic abilities. Students will be graded on their participation and effort not their athletic abilities. There are only 2 major requirements for the class that each child participates in every activity with the best of their ability and come dressed in their P.E. uniform on time.

Film & Photo

Welcome to Film & Photo Class! In this class, students will learn basic film & photography skills, which include: how to use a professional camera, how to film, and how to edit videos and photos. Students will also learn about different photography and film styles, along with learning about different film makers and their styles. This is a very fun and engaging class!

Study skills

Welcome to Study Skills! Students will be taught the core values of planning and organizing in order to attain success in their academic career. Students will learn skills such as organizing their notebooks in such a way that all information and supplies are neat and readily available. Students will also practice recording assignments clearly and completely in an assignments book each day. Additionally, students will learn important studying techniques to prepare for upcoming tests. 

Study Hall

Welcome to Study Hall! This class is a perfect opportunity to spend quiet time doing homework, working on papers, or studying for that big test. It's also a great place to ask for extra help with something students may not fully understand. Students who take this class find that it helps them concentrate on their homework and it gives them more free time when they get home from school!
