Dear West Valley Christian School Families,
As of now, we will be beginning the 2020-2021 school year with distance learning. We will continue to keep you updated of any changes from LA County including approval of a waiver that would potentially allow us to open. However, as of now, we are focusing on the professional development and training necessary to deliver a dynamic distance learning program. Our official start date of instruction will be Monday, August 31st with a Week of Welcome beginning Tuesday, August 25th.
Our Week of Welcome, August 25-28, will include small group appointments to meet with the teacher. These small group appointments will include approximately 3 families so that we can practice safe distancing. During these meetings, we look forward to welcoming you to our new school year and give you and your child a chance to personally connect with your teacher. We will participate in welcome activities, and allow time for the teachers to help students and parents get set up online. Additionally, students will receive all textbooks, materials, and supplies needed to make distance learning a successful experience. We will have a scheduled practice meeting for classes to log on and practice online etiquette as well as offer some optional virtual social activities during this week to allow the students a chance to bond before school begins. More information from your child's teacher to come on this.
Thank you for your continued support,
***West Valley Christian Preschool is considered an essential business and will remain open with the originally planned start date of August 17.
